Tips On How To Write A Bipolar Romance Novel Biography

By Robert Moore

The great thing about writing is how there are many ways thoughts and experiences can be expressed. The writers for these types of literature may not have always undergo the events that transpire in their novels. And at more interesting times these things do happen to the authors themselves. The readers know that someone out there can sympathize with them.

There are many perspectives that mental illness can be viewed through. There may be the perspective of the one plagued with the illness, and the one who has to deal with the person who is with the disease. Writing a bipolar romance novel biography, may involve ups and downs and tears, lots of it.

Mental illness may still be a vague concept for many. This may be due to the lack of proper representation in media. There is quite the number of things one can write about when it goes down to observing the life of one who has bipolar. This may involve stories about going to the psychiatrist, drinking medication, stopping medication and everything that happens in the middle.

Anyone can have this, but the way people deal with it can be different. This disease is double edged sword that lets it victim swing between two extremes. There would be moments of mania and others of depression. Writing a biographic novel about this should be able to show the science behind this behavior.

There are 3 major types. Bipolar I, II and cyclothymia. The first one can have manic episodes that can last for 7 days. The depression can then last up to two weeks. Now think about how this can affect any romantic relationship. The manic state is not even supposed to be a kind of euphoria, it may be something daring and destructive.

If you look at it in the angle of the lover, being at the receiving end of this can be exhausting, above everything else. The manic episodes can lead to so many instances where one would have to learn how to pull the other down from their illusions of grandeur. This may lead to extreme fights, sleepless nights and broken hearts.

The mood swings are all in extremes and they would have little to no control over it. The romance novel may not end in a happily ever after, if the person is lucky it would. But in real life, luck is not something handed out to just anyone. It is not biased and does not care who a person is and where they come from. This can be true to mental illness, although, the likelihood of having it can come from genetic make up.

There have been many movies that show disorders, but one that is notable and is a biography is from 1999 called Girl, Interrupted. This was not at all a romance flick, but it accurately showed the life of those that suffer psychologically. The movie was based on the novel biography written by Susanna Kaysen, the protagonist.

Know that psychological dysfunction can be genetic. This is not the fault of those who are plagued with this problem. This novel would not be like the romance movies, if it were genuine and true. A happy ending where both people live happily together forever may not even happen. The piece being a biography would tell you that while there is romance, bipolar cannot be seen as something romantic.
