Morocco Flag And The Flag Company Inc

Morocco’s first-known inhabitants were Near Eastern nomads who may have been distant cousins of the ancient Egyptians. Phoenicians appear to have arrived around 800 BC, and when the Romans arrived in the 4th century BC, they called the expanse of Morocco and western Algeria ‘Mauretania’ and the indigenous people ‘Berbers’, meaning ‘barbarians’. By 829, local elites had established an Idrissid state with its capital at Fès, dominating all of the Morocco. Thus commenced a cycle of rising and falling Islamic dynasties, which included the Almoravids (1062â€"1147), who built their capital at Marrakesh.

France took control in 1912, making its capital at Rabat and handing Spain a token zone in the north. Opposition from Berber mountain tribes was officially crushed but continued to simmer away and moved into political channels with the development of the Istiqlal (independence) party.

The flag of Morocco was adopted on November 17, 1915. When the French and Spanish ruled Morocco, the flag was not allowed to be used in some parts of the country. When Morocco gained independence in 1956, they resumed use of this flag.

The original design of the flag had been used continuously even at the time of the French and Spanish domination of Morocco. However, it was required to be used in land only and not in the sea. When Morocco finally acquired its independence in 1956, the original design of the flag was considered as the national flag of Morocco.

The flag of Morocco consists of a red base with a green outlined, five-point star known as the 'Seal of Solomon' in the center of it. Green and red are traditional colors of Islam, which is Morocco's official religion. Red is also the color of the reigning Moroccan dynasty. The Seal of Solomon represents the link between God and the nation.

The pentagram is a five-pointed star, drawn with five straight lines, which intersect to create the outline of a star. This style of a star has long been used as a symbol of religions as the star of Solomon, and the green is also often associated with religion. The Flag Company Inc specialized in flag designs offered a special edition of decals and flags to memorize the history of Morocco flag for the future.
