How To Know What Is My Calling

By Kimberly Richardson

For one to know his purpose in life is already in itself a very beautiful feat because it is something very hard for most people to find. While a lot of people are looking for that perfect path in their lives, not everyone actually finds it. So for those stuck with the question of what is my calling, here are a few tips that can help.

When one would want to find his or her purpose, the first thing to do is to embrace the present and move to the future. One of the main reasons why some people cannot find their true vocation is simply because they cannot let go of their past. If one would really want to look toward the future, then the first thing to do is let go of all that heavy baggage from the past.

When one lets go of his or her past and accepts the present, one will then be more open to try new things. This is very much essential to looking for a true vocation. One thing to always remember is that the current path is not always the path that one will be taking on the rest of his or her life. So try many different things and maybe one of them will be the true purpose.

When one opens his or her horizons to new things, then he or she will also meet new people. Meeting new people is not just about having small talk or gaining new connections but it is rather about learning new lessons and gaining new insights. These insights can allow one to know how to better find out what he or she wants out of life.

Now, while one does that, another very important thing that he or she has to think of would be a reason. If one has found a worthwhile path to pursue, then he or she must always have a reason for making that his or her vocation. If there is no driving force behind it, it will just become a mere activity.

While one may have a why, his or her goal may not actually be feasible. One of the most important things to do when looking for a vocation is to check whether it is feasible because if it is not, then maybe it is not the right vocation. However, if one believes he or she can achieve that milestone, then it is definitely the right path that he or she should take.

Finally, one has to tune into his or her head that a vocation is not necessarily limited to just one. It is actually possible for one to have many vocations. The only concern there is which one will be done first and which ones will be done later on.

Finding a true calling is very tricky because there are so many things to think about. However, one of the most important things to think about is always exiting the comfort zone. As mentioned above, it is very important that one exits his or her comfort zone to know where he or she has to go.
