By Gregory Scott

As the world s population gets bigger, there more and more of the world s people finding themselves trapped in the rat race or at worst, stuck in a world where they desire materialism above all else. But as time goes one, many people want to find themselves or at the very least, find their humanism. Womens spiritual support groups is where the prospect of a retreat comes into play and serve as an outlet for those seeking to find themselves again amongst the clutter of the world.

How does one go on a retreat? It can be done alone as an individual or with others who share the same sentiments as any individual seeking to participate in a common retreat. This means that all one needs is a quiet place where they can be alone for an extended amount of time, be it a spare bedroom, time alone in the garden or a place of worship. If the retreat is to accommodate more than one person, any place that is able to do so like a place of worship is adequate enough.

Like a car that goes to service from time to time after a few thousand kilometers, so too will one be able to in essence take themselves to service by engaging in some time alone. Enough time to appreciate ones strengths and analyse their weakness in order to evaluate how they can make themselves a better person.

The spiritual experience in itself is an opportunity to remove oneself from one s everyday environment and find themselves and of course, their spirituality. This may be met with some fear but that is normal what is important is to wade through it. The bottom line is that the purpose of a retreat is about personal growth.

A retreat is a perfect opportunity for one to leave their phone behind and focus on themselves without the distraction of one their most personal of creature comforts.

Confidence is key or at the very least a prerequisite required to partake in a retreat. One needs to have the confidence to let go of earthly burdens such as those often found in what will people think mentalities and immerse themselves fully in the desired method chosen to assist with their retreat.

One to take the time to develop the practise they have chosen. Whether the time of retreat is a few hours or even an entire working month. One must spend time with their prefered method of practice, be it dance or yoga, not only to improve upon it but to use the time of each session more efficiently. Maximizing each opportunity that presents itself. Every person has their personal motivations for a retreat but what most people if not all who undertake one would agree on is that afterwards, they feel rejuvenated and refreshed.

There are many benefits to retreats, these are but a few to help one in deciding whether to undertake such a journey, as nowadays religion forget to take care of our spiritual side and our soul battle to find his own way to talk to us.
